Leadership Roles
I take pride in the leadership roles I have taken on, both in and outside of school. I believe that a leader has to portray authority, self-awareness, gratitude and be able to delegate. The ability to delegate is very important so that each team member has a chance and duty to take charge and perform well.

Below, are the top leadership roles I have undertaken. Three of these are ongoing.
01
Maritime Youth Ambassador
I am honoured to be a Maritime Youth Ambassador (MYA) with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). As an MYA, the main purpose is to spread awareness about Maritime Singapore and encourage youths like myself to join the maritime industry. Just a month in being an MYA, I have met other passionate youths from different polytechnics and university institutions. It is so exciting to hear from my new friends about their passion and interest in the different sectors of Singapore’s Maritime Industry. We have also attended industry events such as the Singapore Maritime Week 2022 and have spoken with many industry experts.

We had the honour of presenting who we are as MYAs to the Senior Minister of State for Transport, Mr Chee Hong Tat and other industry experts for the official launch day of MYA on 28th May 2022.

02
Final Year Project
I led a team of 3 for my year-long final year project (FYP) at Singapore Polytechnic. The theme of my FYP was 'What can we do to benefit the shipping industry?'. With my interest in maritime decarbonisation, I decided to base my FYP on 'Singapore Making a Difference in the Global Maritime Decarbonisation Effort'. This is the project I am personally most proud of. The team received positive feedback from our lecturers and the companies we interviewed, such as like Det Norske Veritas, and Klaveness AS.

Cell Group Leader,
AMK Methodist Church
I am currently a cell group leader to secondary 1 and 2 girls at the Ang Mo Kio Methodist Church. I lead alongside an adult and we teach biblical values to the girls. I hold 1-hour sessions every alternate week. I prepare fun and engaging powerpoint slides with content that I feel will resonate with these girls. I also plan games and activities to keep the sessions interactive!
04
Social Media Manager
Besides leading a cell group, I also manage the Instagram account for my church's youth community. I am in charge of what is to be posted, post designs, and caption ideas. I work alongside secondary school volunteers, providing ideas and guidance to them.
