Hey, I'm Sarah!
Having completed my diploma in maritime business at the Singapore Maritime Academy of the Singapore Polytechnic, I have ambitions and aspirations to find my place in the maritime industry once I get my bachelor's degree in Maritime Business at the University of Plymouth. I am driven and wish to be surrounded by like-minded people who seek excellence, love, and kindness at work and in their personal lives.
Through my internships, mentoring relationships, and conversations with my lecturers, seniors, and those working in shipping, I am confident in my choice of career.

EXPERIENCE

Intern
Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation
I provide assistance to the project team. I analyse and present my findings on the production of green ammonia as a marine fuel. I also do knowledge mapping on the work done by several maritime organisations such as IBIA, BIMCO, ICS, etc. It is an honour to work alongside experts focused on making the world a better place.
03/2021 to 09/2021
Klaveness Combination Carriers
Student Project Assistant
I provided assistance in the updating of a database on caustic soda shipments, research on alternative future batteries, and decarbonisation targets. My time in Klaveness was enjoyable, insightful, and impactful for my self-development and knowledge of shipping! I worked alongside my mentor and was able to make exciting and insightful conversations with the people working there.
03/2020 to 09/2020
Intern
Clarksons Platou Asia Pte. Limited
I provided support to Tanker Claims and Tanker Operations team. I am fortunate that my first internship experience was with Clarksons because I was exposed to the tanker market. I learnt how to communicate effectively to shipowners and ship charterers and handle various shipping documents like freight invoices.
